Electromechanical Engineer turned entrepreneur, writer, and communicator.

My career has spanned technical engineering, large-scale custom construction, and hands-on business leadership. For over 11 years, I co-founded and managed Pura Roca, a bouldering gym in Costa Rica, where I directed overall daily business operations and led everything from corporate account acquisition to high-ticket custom engineering builds through Pura Roca Walls—a branch focused on providing design and manufacturing of private and commercial climbing walls, safety training, and maintenance.

Coaching & People Operations

When I wasn’t building structures, I was in direct contact with customers as a trainer for rock climbing safety and technical maneuvers. In 2017, I got certified as a Climbing Wall Instructor by the American Mountain Guides Association (A.M.G.A.) and, for the first time, brought specialized training for sport climbing facility coaches and personnel. I worked directly with sports teachers and personnel at schools and universities like The European School, Lincoln School, and Universidad Latina.

I led the organization of large yearly events like National Bouldering Competitions and climbing festivals, and coordinated private corporate events and team-building activities.

Even though I have a strong technical background, throughout my last 11 years I have thrived with effective organization, communication, and relationships. My experiences as a coach and trainer have taught me about pedagogy and how to communicate effectively with diverse teams and audience groups.

Austria, Publishing & What’s Next

In 2025, I moved to Austria with my wife following a successful business exit and sale. In December, I launched Briefe aus Kärnten—a personal project of a boutique print magazine distributed across my local community—combining my passion for media and writing. In 2025, one of my stories was published in an anthology of Costa Rican short stories (Cuando Soplan los Alisios).

I am currently working on a more extensive fiction novel and looking to find a good workplace where I can put my energy and skills to service, as writing alone can't give me the dynamism I'm used to.
